At age 16, Jaime Monroy began his legendary comedy career in 1978 and was discovered at the Comedy Store in Hollywood by his first manager, Sally Marr. Jaime had no idea she was Lenny Bruce's mother or who Lenny Bruce even was? At the time, Jaime got a job as a valet parking cars at the famous Friar’s Club in Beverly Hills and developed his pinpoint timing and his trademark spontaneous adlibs by getting up on stage with comedy legends like Redd Foxx, Milton Berle, Phyllis Diller, Jackie Mason,Don Rickles,  Joan Rivers, Steve Allen,George Burns, Charlie Callas, Sammy Shore, Rich Little, Slappy White, Foster Brooks, Jerry Lewis, Rip Taylor, Gary Owens, and the Bob Hope USO Tours, to name a few. Jaime Monroy has opened for more legends in comedy than any other Latino comedian.

Jaime’s spontaneous style weaves together stories, riffing with the audience and observations of American life for big laughs, making him a favorite opening act to the stars!

most memorable compliments, “You’re very funny, you remind me of someone I used to                                  work with a long time ago.” She meant of course, one of Jaime’s idols: Desi Arnaz.                                            Jaime Monroy's television career began on a top 40 music TV show, “Solid Gold”, becoming the                    youngest warm up comedian in television history! “The Warm Up Kid” revved up studio                                    audiences for more than 50 of America’s favorite talk shows, game shows and iconic                                          sitcoms from "Facts of Life", "Cheers" to a taping of Lucille Ball’s last show “Life with                                        Lucy”.

Robin Williams, Jenny Jones, Bill Maher, Dennis Miller, Arsenio Hall, Pauly Shore, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Sam Kinison, Sinbad, Rosie O’Donnell, Brad Garrett, Rhonda Shear, Judd Apatow, Paul Feig to name a few. Jaime also opened for legendary comedians, Milton Berle, Jackie Mason, and Joan Rivers. Jaime Monroy was a semi-finalist in the 1984 Los Angeles Comedy Competition Hosted by Jay Leno, and became a top ten finalist in “Comics Take A Stand For MDA”.
